Revlon Photoready Foundation Shade Matching Chart

This is a chart I created based on the requests for shade matching I received through Youtube messages and comments. I've watched many of the reviews on Youtube and pored over reviews on www.makeupalley.com as well. With that said, when reading reviews, some people may be stating their winter shade or their summer shade. So if you happen to have the same MAC shade as them and try the corresponding shade, it may or may not match. Also, bear in mind where you fall in terms of your own MAC shade. For example, you may be in the lighter or darker end of the spectrum in NC35. Some tips on using the chart above:
  • This chart was created as a guide, please use it as a reference point.
  • Your undertone (either pink or yellow) will play a major role in shade determination.
  • The Revlon Photoready shades do NOT correspond to the Revlon Colorstay shades.
  • 006 Medium Beige is darker than 008 Golden Beige.
  • NC20 & NW20 are overwhelmingly 003 Shell.
  • There is a alternate pattern as the shade numbers increase moving from pink to yellow, pink to yellow.
  • 006 & 008 can be mixed to create shades NC30 - NC37.
  • Some shades (very light/very dark) may not be available in your area.
  • Word on the street is darker shades such as Caramel & Mocha are available.
  • Always feel free to mix shades to create your perfect shade.

revlon photoready

Revlon Photoready in 008 Golden Beige...Ahhh the glorious pump!

If you happen to be my shade (MAC NC30-35) then you’re in some extra luck – below are the shades I use in a variety of foundations, both drugstore & high end. You may use them to shade match for Revlon Photoready or any of the other foundations listed:
  • Revlon Photoready in 008 Golden Beige
  • Revlon Colorstay in 310 Warm Golden
  • Maybelline 24Hr Superstay in Nude
  • Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Powder in Beige
  • Make Up Forever HD in 120 Sand
  • Stila Illuminating Foundation in 50 Watts
  • Bare Escentuals in Golden Medium
  • Victoria's Secret Soft Focus Liquid Foundation in Medium 10
  • Coastal Scents Undercover HD Foundation in ST-05

I hope this is helpful for anyone trying to find the right shade in Revlon Photoready. I have been getting a lot requests to shade match and figured this chart could be helpful for all of us. I really can’t help each and every one find their shade, so please refer to this chart in picking your shade. As there are around 10 shades in this product line, creating this chart was not too time consuming. However, please do not request charts for other foundations as I probably won’t be able to create one.

Please let me know if this chart was helpful in your quest to select a shade. Also, tell me if the chart didn’t work for and what your MAC shade is and which Revlon Photoready shade ended up being a good match. I will probably update this chart to coincide with your comments and messages for a bit before leaving the chart as is. In case you haven’t seen it, check out my review for Revlon Photoready on Youtube!

Happy Shopping;)

Hi :)
Thanks for doing this, it's really helpful! I also wear bareminerals in golden medium. Just wondering if maybe you could add in the future what other shades you are in other foundations such as Bobbi Brown Skin, Dior Nude, Chanel Pro lumiere, Mat lumiere, Shu Face Architect Fluid, Nars Sheer Glow etc etc. I'm looking for my hg foundation that stays yellow & doesn't turn orange on me & I think we're skin twins! If you can't that's ok...Thank you so much I really appreciate it very much! :)

Hi There,GREAT Chart!I have medium color skin with pinky patches on my cheeks. What color in the Revlon Photo Ready would you Recommend for me?I was thinking 006 (It seems to be quite popular)Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks x x

Thank you so much for the help. I was very excited when Revlon PhotoReady finally came to Malaysia but the lighter shade available is Nude 004, and its tad darker than my skin tone. So I can only get a lighter tone by buying online :D

Thanks hun, the chart I helpful. I am also a mac 30-35 shade so have followed a few of ur recommendations. I really want to try Revlon Colorstay in Golden Beige or Warm Golden but for some reason we don't have those shades here in the UK which is so annoying, so I wondered do u knw if Natural Beige or Natural Tan would be any good. I will wait for ur recommendation. Thanks : )

is there a warm golden in normal/dry skin?

Anonymous said...

Really helpful thanks! I am also NC30-35 and I'm just in luck. I'm Asian with yellow undertones. Are you?

Miss Wan said...

yes yes i'm NC30-35 w/ yellow undertones :)

Sam said...

So wonderful, just what I was looking for, THANK YOU!

Athina said...

Hey, the chart was helpful, but I still have some concerns. My skin has very yellow undertones and I usually wear foundations with that base eg MUFE HD in 153. I had the Revlon PhotoReady in 006 MED and also currently in 008 Golden Beige. Out of the 2, which do you recommend. I can't find a good medium between the 2 as their both slightly lighter than my natural skin color and it doesn't help that drugstore foundations are offered in general color ranges :/

what is more yellow in colorstay??golden beige or warm golden??/

Thanks for taking the time to do this! Luckily, you and I wear the same photoready shade. I want to try Maybelline 24 hr but the thought of trying a shade called Nude makes me nervous because it sounds too light.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for creating the chart. I wear Bare Escentuals in golden medium. When it come to make a perfect match for Revlon PhotoReady I mix Nude and Medium Beige together. The result is beautiful!

Hey, thank you so much for doing this chart, i have yellow undertones and find i'm always buying pink undertoned drugstore foundations. so helpful! thank you.

If you have yellow undertone, light to medium skin, try the Golden Beige because it worked for me. Revlon has an array of shades that is so difficult to find what shade is for you. In other brands, I always take the 3rd shade but for Revlon, it is #008 (8th) i believe. try it and it does not give make your skin feels dry or cakey.
